Great Crested Grebe
When breeding the Great Crested Grebe has one of the most elaborate courtship displays of any of our waterbirds. It is also one of the most densely feathered of all birds with about 20,000 feathers. Great Crested Grebes are experts at catching fish under water and will often surface with quite large fish which at first would appear to be too big for them to swallow, but they don't give up easily.
