Blackbird
This is a well known and abundant resident throughout Britain. Numbers increase in the Autumn and Winter as birds from the continent migrate to the British Isles. The Blackbirds rich and melodious song is a familiar sound. Although the Blackbird is still a very common sight, this is another species that has declined in Britain since 1970. There have been signs of a recovery in the last 10 years.
