Brown Hare
Unfortunately the Brown Hare, which is capable of running at 35 miles per hour, is in decline, possibly due to intensive farming. Many people believe that boxing hares are two males fighting, but in fact it is the female fighting off the attentions of a male waiting to mate with her. She will only mate when she is ready to and the fights can go on for some time. The Brown Hares large eyes give them an excellent early warning system of possible danger approaching, and when disturbed they will run very quickly in the opposite direction.
