Robin

Probably our best known and most loved garden bird, the Robin is extremely territorial and will fight to the death. You will hear Robins singing throughout the year. This is because both males and females occupy their own territories during the winter months. The females sing and display the same as males do in order to defend these winter territories. The Robin has a plump look to it, with a very upright stance, and has a habit of making abrupt movements. These points make it quite easy to identify even in silhouette when you can't see the Red breast. Males and Females are alike.
