Essex Skipper (Thymelicus lineola)

Seen in the South and South Eastern part of the country from May until August, this small butterfly has a wingspan of just 25mm. It has expanded it's range quite considerably over the past 30 years or so and can now be seen as far west as the Severn estuary.
