OCTOBER FOR RED DEER

You can't go through the month of October without trying to get some images of the Red Deer Rut. Unfortunately the first weekend I wanted to go it was raining very hard. On my next free weekend I went to see what was happening. As you may know everything seemed to start early this year, such as spring migrants coming in, early breeding attempts and so on. This was down to the unseasonal weather. This was a little disappointing as far as the rut was concerned because by the time I got to try and capture it, it was all but over. The Stags were all looking very tired and there wasn't much in the way of mating going on. A few bellows was all they seemed to be able to manage. I did obtain a few shots that I'm pleased with and have uploaded them to the Red Deer portfolio which can be viewed HERE. I'll have to go earlier next year.
